Phlebotomy means: the surgical incision into a vein. Pretty confusing considering when you go and have blood work done, a phlebotomist just sticks a needle into your arm to draw  the blood out. Being a Phlebotomist can be a fun and rewarding job. Anything in the health care spectrum that you get into can almost guarantee you a job. No matter how bad the economy gets, people will still need to see a doctor and still need to seek health care.

Phlebotomy Classes are just not about taking blood from patients. There is a lot of protocol and steps that must be followed every time you take a person's blood. You also have to know how to properly handle blood. During class, you will also learn of the different bio-hazards that can be involved when you handle someones blood. You will also learn exactly what to do if there is ever an accident. You will also be taught  proper bed side manner skills. You will be working with a lot of different people if working in a hospital. You will learn that the young, middle aged and elderly are all different and need to be treated differently.

During your Phlebotomy Classes, you will learn about the anatomy of the human body, different needle techniques, creating patient rapport, medical safety and record keeping.
